Mary Frances Sauerbier, wife of Dorin Sauerbier and mother of six, passed away in her home on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, where she was surrounded by many loved ones. She died after battling cancer, which she fought courageously, with her humor still in tact.
Mary, or Fran as most knew her, was born Mary Frances Tapp on Dec. 29, 1926 in McAlester, Okla. As a young girl, she and her family moved to California where she eventually met George Waldron, her first husband, who died in 1961. They had five children together.
She then met Dorin Earl Sauerbier and they were married in 1963. Fran then gave birth to a son, and she and Dorin raised their six children together. She and her family made their home in Camarillo in 1976 where she was an active member of Newcomers club for many years and was an avid bowler until earlier this year. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Church. Fran loved being a grandma and helped to raise many of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Doris Cox and Joan McCowen.
She is survived by her husband, Dorin Sauerbier; daughter, Mary Jane; sons, Sean Waldron, Timothy Waldron and Dorin Sauerbier II; her sister, Faye Shaffer; 21 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
There will be a memorial service at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 22 at Griffin Family Funeral Chapel in Camarillo, 1075 East Daily Drive, 482-1166.
