It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Victoria Rodriguez on Dec. 25, 2010. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Victoria was born on Dec. 23, 1929 in El Paso, Texas. Victoria was devoted to her family and her faith, she attended mass every Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, along side her husband. Saturdays were always a treat to her, her daughter Martha would pick her up early and they would spend the mornings going to garage sales. Victoria loved her novelas and no one could talk to her while the coffee brewed, you could find Victoria doing the crossword puzzles as she awaited the day and "The Price is Right" to air. Victoria had the most beautiful disposition. She never once would utter a negative word about a person.
Always smiling, when Victoria saw you, she would make you feel like you were the most important person in the world. Her unconditional love over poured to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Victoria was loved and still loved by so many, she is the perfect example of what family should be. She was, by far, the glue that kept our family together. It was a sight so rare to see her without her husband close by her side.
Victoria is preceded by her mother, Regina Perez; her oldest daughter, Magdalena Rodriguez; and her youngest son, Robert Rosalio Rodriguez. She is survived by her husband, grief-stricken Rosalio Rodriguez; son, Angel Perez (Connie); daughter, Martha Garcia (Earl); son, Richard Rodriguez (Diane); daughter, Marlene Mendez (Anthony); grandchildren, Mario Perez, Angelique Borchard (Scott), Christian Perez, Jessie Herrera and family, Adrian Herrera and family, Gilbert Herrera and family, Phillip Zuniga, Christina Madonna Coursen, Maricela Avalos, Sonya Garcia, Jo "Sophia" Garcia, Richard Rodriguez II, Joseph Rodriguez; great-grandchildren, Jazmine Lopez, Xzavyer Cash D Michael Rivera, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez III, Gilbert Herrera II, Victoria Rodriguez; numerous cousins and other family members and countless friends.
Funeral services honoring the life of Victoria Rodriguez will begin with the recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 10800 Henderson Rd., Ventura. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30 also at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with committal and burial to follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park. Angel and family; Although I only met your mother once, when Connie invited us to a birthday party for Angie. She reminded me of my own mother when she was alive. May she rest in peace and God bless you and your family in your time of sorrow.
