Our beloved father, son, brother, grandfather, Joe Castro Salazar, went to a better place on Friday, Sept. 24, 2010. He was 75 years old.
Joe was born Feb. 21, 1935 to Silvestra and Felix Salazar in Belvedere Township, Calif. Joe worked as a construction laborer and cement mason until he was drafted into the US Army in 1958. After his discharge from the Army, he returned to construction work until his retirement in 1981.
One of Joe's favorite pastimes was to cruise and listen to Oldies in his favorite 1956 Cadillac. He would often end up at the park where he relaxed and enjoyed the scenery. He also enjoyed going to the beach with his grandson Danny where they sometimes went fishing or barbecued.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Silvestra and Felix; brothers, Bonnie, Tommy, Victor, and Bobby Salazar; sister, Tina; daughter, Linda Salazar; and grandson, Richard Ramirez.
Joe is survived by his wife, Rosalie Salazar; children: Josie Ramirez, Felix (Laura) Salazar, Gilbert (Leticia) Salazar, Mary (Ray) Gonzales, and Rosie (Jack) Garcia; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary, Jessie, Julia and Molly.
