Irene Villalobos Obituary

Irene Villalobos, 79, of Fillmore passed away on Monday, Dec. 6, 2010.

Irene's house was always the place to be whether it was to party, summer vacations or just visit and sit on the porch. She always had a smile on her face and Oh that laugh! If you needed a baby sitter you could count on her. If you needed something sewed, you could take it to Irene. She loved her crossword puzzles when she wasn't scratching her scratchers. She never wanted anything for her birthday, "Just take me to Vegas mija." Heaven is having a party and Irene is entertaining once again with family, old friends, and I'm certain she's making new friends. Dancing, singing and probably feeding everyone.

She is preceded in death by parents: Eusebio and Angelina Chavez; son, Rick Villalobos; and siblings, Sonny, Vivian and Dorothy.

She is survived by Sonia Robles of Oxnard; grandsons, Manuel Robles, Rick and Bryan Villalobos; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Gaby, Riley and LeaMarie.

A Rosary will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 13 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Fillmore immediately followed by Mass. Arrangements under the direction of Skillin Carroll Mortuary, 524-0744.

Auntie Irene, I will never forget "Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, never let it fade away." You sang that to me when I was a little girl, and I always remember your sweet smile and voice when I sing it to myself. I know you're happy and singing in heaven. We will see you again! Love you Sonia and Manuel, and all the family. Bless us all. Cousin Des

Sonia, Manual & Families
I had the honor and great pleasure of knowing Irene for many, many years. She had a big and generous heart, and that laugh, you could find her in a crowd just by that laugh. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. For she is now pain free and in peace. God Bless.
