Natividad Austria Bautista, age 90, died peacefully Jan. 3, 2011 at Shoreline Care Center in Oxnard.
Natividad was born Dec. 3, 1920 in Balanga, Bataan, Philippine Islands. She attained a degree in education as well as a Masters Degree in Tagalog from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines. She lived there until 1968, after which she moved to San Francisco, Calif.
She was a generous, kind and loving aunt, sister, mother, wife, and grandmother. Foremost, she was a devout Catholic with a special devotion to Our Lady of Perpetual Help and the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
She enjoyed touring, sewing, crocheting, and attending social gatherings. Natividad retired from the Bank of America, where she began as a teller and advanced to account reconciliation.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Santos Bautista, and her beloved son, Amando Bautista; sisters: Josefina A. Arellano of Oxnard, Maria Rosario Calimbas, Maria Trinidad Arellano, and Lily Austria of P.I.; and brothers: Amando Austria Jr. and Ernesto Austria also of the Philippines. Natividad is survived by one sister, Mrs. Nenita de Jesus and brother-in-law Horacio of Los Angeles; brother-in-law, Rafael N. Arellano of Oxnard; loving nieces and nephews: Estrella Gavieta of Canada, Maria Teresa Geraldez and her husband Roberto of Los Angeles, Jessica Juarez of Rowland Heights, Francis Calimbas and wife, Thelma, of Glendale, and Emily Arellano Jones and husband, Kirk, of Oxnard; daughter-in-law, Teresita Bautista and three grandchildren: Arnel, Maricel, and Amando Bautista, Jr., all of the Philippines.
A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Monday evening, Jan. 10, at Del Angel Conrad/Carroll Mortuary, 401 West Channel Islands Boulevard. The funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, at St. Anthony Church, 2511 South C Street. Pastor Fr. Sang Tran will officiate. She will be laid to rest at Santa Clara Cemetery.
