Audrey Elizabeth Pollett-Duda was born June 5, 1928 in Sydney-Nova Scotia, Canada.
She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Julia Pollett. She and her husband Stan came to California from Canada with their first born child William Stanley and settled into Pico Rivera in 1952. Audrey and Stan welcomed their second child, Shannon Marie in 1956 and in 1964, their third child, John Joseph was born.
Audrey worked in a envelope factory for many years, and also as a cook at the Candlelight in Santa Fe Springs. In 1982, John and Audrey moved to Ventura to be closer to her son William. She fell in love with Ventura County, and spent the rest of her life there. She had a great sense of humor and loved to sing.
Audrey passed away to be with God on October 29, 2010 at 5:30 a.m. exactly 33 years after her husband Stan's death, from pancreatic cancer. She has also been battling Alzheimer's. Audrey was a great mother and grandmother. The grandchildren referred to her as Nana.
She is survived by her son William of Phoenix, Arizona, her son John of Port Hueneme, California and many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter Sharon Marie, husband Stan, her sisters Jenny, Edith, Gertrude and Olive, and brothers Hector, Roy and Redmond.
Audrey's family would like to thank Vista Cove Care Center in Santa Paula, and Assisted Living for taking such good care of her. She will be truly missed. If you would like to make a donation in Audrey's memory, please make it to The Alzheimer's Association or The Cancer Society.
