We went to school together, tore-up the Ventura Keys with our skate boards, challenged the incoming waves from the offshore hurricanes.
We fed the dog his delightful microwaved meals that filled the house with yummie aromas!
We would travel together on our bikes to complete paper routes, laugh, play and listen to music.
Charlie was beyond his years and hard to keep up with as a friend. He could have been a jet propulsion scientist if he desired to be...
One of my regrets in life will be that it took me over 40 years to reach out to an old friend.
My hope is that we see each other on the other side and speak about the things we witnessed together.
The general public would call us crazy...when in fact very sane, young and full of adventure.
May God hold you close to the doors of Heaven to greet me when we can meet again my friend.

I knew Charlie back in the 80's when he worked at the base swimming pool. We became great friends and would often write letters to keep in touch when the pool was closed for the off season. While we lost touch many years ago, he had a deep and profound impact on me and he will be deeply missed.
