Helen Andterson Kellner passed away on October 21, at her home at the age of 103. She died of natural causes.
Helen was born January 28, 1907 near Stuttgart, Germany. At 16 she immigrated to the U.S.A. and lived in Philadelphia with her aunt. Helen married William Andterson in 1927. They lived in Philadelphia a few years until moving to Van Nuys where William secured a position as a banker/broker. Eventually they bought a chicken ranch which Helen managed.
Helen was widowed in 1953. She married John V. Keller in 1964 and resided on the Ventura Road Ranch in Oxnard, Ca. where John farmed. In 1966 Helen and John moved to Camarillo where they continued to enjoy entertaining relatives and friends and traveling until John's death in 1974. Helen eventually moved to Leisure Village.
Helen was a member of the Oxnard Monday Club, St. Josephs Convalescent Hospital of Ojai, several travel clubs and became a valued member of Leisure Villages' Bocci Club and was a life member of ST. John's Hospital Aux. She enjoyed her many friends she made at the village especially Annelies Regan, Heinz Schober and Edith Anderson.
Helen Kellner is survived by stepdaughters, step grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister in Germany and nieces, great nephews and great nieces in Germany and in the U.S.
Helen's internment will be Nov. 20 at 11 a.m., at the old cemetery at Santa Clara on 'H' Street in Oxnard.
