Kathryn Crispin Obituary

Kathryn "Kae" Marie Crispin, 56, loving mother, devoted wife, and wise friend, passed away peacefully the evening of Friday, November 26th, 2010 at her home in Thousand Oaks. A beacon of light to all who knew her, Kae leaves behind a legacy of tremendous Grace, Fortitude and unrelenting Hope.

Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, August 6, 1954, Kae was raised along the sunny shores of San Diego. Along with her six brothers and sisters, Kae enjoyed an adventurous and memorable childhood. After earning a scholarship from Kearney Mesa High School, 1972, she quickly attained her nursing degree from Grossmont College and was soon employed in the ER at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego. Once finding herself fairly overwhelmed with the pristine beauty of the Sierra Nevada's on a ski trip up north, Kae relocated to South Lake Tahoe in early 1978.

As the hotel/casino nurse for Dell Webb's Sahara Tahoe Resort, she soon fell in love, married and began her family. Relocating finally to Thousand Oaks in 1987, Kae devoted her life here to raising her three wonderful daughters, working, most recently with Romano's Macaroni Grill and enjoying her most beloved past-time, painting. As a devout believer, Kae very much valued her time spent with the Thousand Oaks' Vineyard Community Church and in recent years, EV Free Church of the Conejo Valley (The Bridge.) As an incredibly humble and inspirational spirit, Kae's life, dignity, and faith stands as a warm reminder of God's gracious and enduring love for us all.

Kae was preceded in death by her biological mother, Jackie (Harding) Vought, and her brother, Samuel Vought.

She is survived by her husband, Keith Crispin; daughters, Kelly Lauren Crispin-Paulson, Kasey Lee Crispin, and Kimberly Lynnae Crispin; father, Jack Vought; mother, Shirlee Vought; brothers; Timothy Vought, Michael Vought, and Robert Vought; and her beloved sisters, Dawn Taylor and Anne Buckley.

A celebration of Kae's life will take place at Conejo Community Center, 1175 Hendrix Ave., Thousand Oaks, Sunday, December 12th at 1:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Kae's honor to The Gilda Radner Ovarian Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai Hospital, Los Angeles, CA.

My family is deeply saddened that Kae is no longer with us. It was always nice to drive by and see her smile and wave. Even during her rough times, she always took the time to ask how my family was doing. I'm sorry I didn't get to know her better but from what I do know, she was an amazing person, wife and mother who raised 3 amazing girls. We'll miss you!

Such an amazing lady. Our hearts and prayers are with the whole family. Though we did not know Kae really well only the brief times we would see her at Mac Grill and during the dance team high school days, the thing that always struck us, was her wonderful and heart and soul.

Some People come into our lives & touch us to our very soul, we go on in our daily chores of life, & a thought will blossom, a sweet memorie will come. Moments by the pool, when our babies were babies, words that were spoken, looks that were shared, unspoken love of one another, life, love & laughter! All this & more was my sister in-law Kae. Thank you for you, I'am better for having the priviledge of sharing in your grace!
Walking in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, she has found her peace! See you soon my Sweet Friend, until we meet again!
Always,
Lezlee XOXO

Not only was Kae a wonderful, kind, loving and beautiful wife and mother, but she was a rock! She was the solid foundation of a very blessed family. I was fortunate enough to be considered a part of this family many years ago and will miss her dearly. GOD Speed, Kae.

I worked with Kae at Macaroni Grill and I greatly enjoyed my times whenever she was there. She was the most predominant mother figure at work and it was always a joy to be in her presence. She loved talking about her daughters and the painting classes she took (repeatedly!) at Moorpark College. She always seemed so fulfilled in her blessed life and there was always great days when she was with you. She will be greatly missed and many prayers go out to her family and a multitude of cherished friends.
