Larry Greenblatt, a longtime resident of Thousand Oaks, passed away on Monday, Sept. 26, 2011.
Larry was born in Akron, Ohio, on Dec. 9, 1933. He moved to Los Angeles with his family in 1947 and attended Dorsey and L.A. High School. Larry played baseball for UCLA, received degrees from both UCLA and Loyola Law School. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Hawaii. Larry wanted to serve the public and worked as a workers comp lawyer and was Presiding Judge in Ventura County for over 30 years. Larry's incredible marriage to Barbara began in 1958. They had two children, Karen and Mark, who continue to live in Thousand Oaks and Camarillo.
Larry is survived by his wife, Barbara; his six grandchildren, Wylie, Samuel, Rachel, Lindsay, Hayley, Alyssa; daughter and son, Karen and Mark; sisters, Phylis Krech, Sheree Adams; and niece, Desiree Krech .

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks, 5600 Lindero Canyon Rd., Westlake Village.

I did'nt know Larry Greenblatt that long. But long enough to feel the same as everyone else. Always with a smile on his face. The"Granda figure"

Larry was a good friend and mentor. I will not only miss his humor but also is sound advice on a wide range of topics. Working with him as a Judge in Oxnard was a component of the best job I ever had.

Dear Barabara,
Scrolling through a worker's comp publication this morning, I was stunned to see the announcement of Larry's death. I am so, so sorry. My heart goes out to you and all your family. Larry's devotion to his family - and to public service, his integrity, his sense of humor, his smile, were unmatched.
