Larry Santora, 79, born on May 10, 1931 in Norristown, Pa., passed away on Sept. 29, 2010 surrounded by his family. Larry had two brothers, Louis and Joseph, and sisters, Jean and Jessie. They were the children of Lorenzo and Pierina Santora of Norristown, Pa.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Teresa, of 57 years; his children, Donna Veracka and husband Bob, Larry Santora Jr. and wife Paula, Debbie Frash and husband Roger, and Steve Santora and wife Rhonda; grandchildren Brian, Kelley, Justin, Lauren, Tesara and Steven; and great-grandchildren, Hannah, Lily and Riley.
Larry and Terri settled in Port Hueneme in 1955 to raise their family. Larry was a carpenter and later became a general contractor with projects ranging from San Jose to the San Fernando Valley. He was especially proud of the homes, administrative buildings and dormitories he built at Pepperdine University. He loved to drive by the projects he had done and tell stories about them.
Larry was active in the Port Hueneme Little League and Pop Warner football. Larry and Terri could be found on Friday nights at Tournament Bowl spending time with friends and family. One of Larry's passions besides following his children and grandchildrens' sporting activities was watching his Lakers. Larry's greatest love was for that of his wife Terri and his family. Larry will always be remebered by his family and friends for his great sense of humor and wittiness.
The Santora family expresses their sincere thanks to caregiver Tess Augustine for her care and support during his final months.
