Lois Breyer Obituary

Lois Mae Breyer nee Farwell passed away on Jan. 1, 2011.

Lois was born on Oct. 7, 1934 in American Falls, Idaho, to Rolla and Ezra Farwell. Early in her childhood the family moved to Santa Paula, where she grew up and graduated from Santa Paula High School in 1952.

In 1954, she married William Breyer and together they had four children. Lois was a dedicated mother and very involved with her childrens schools and lives.

She worked at WIC for the Ventura County Health Department for 21 years. After she retired, she fully enjoyed her true passions: family, friends, gardening, physical fitness and various charities. Her many grandchildren were the light of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rolla and Ezra Farwell, and her partner of many years, Leo Jaramillo. She is survived by her sister, Hazel Clymer of Ventura; brother, Joe Farwell of Bedford, Texas; former husband, Bill Breyer of Oxnard and their four children: Cathy Greenwood of Lake St. Louis, Mo., Bill (Janice) Breyer of Renton, Wash., Sheila (Chuck) Erickson of Albany, Calif., Jeanne (Kevin) Schilling of Oxnard; grandchildren: Erin (Larry) Coleman, Christopher Greenwood, Tristan and Alyssa Breyer, Rachel and Natalie Erickson, and Alexander Schilling; great-grandchild, Ethan Coleman.

As she requested, no services will be held but a celebration of her life will be held at a later date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

I sat beside Lois at the Library warehouse where we sorted and priced books for Friends of the Libary. I only knew her for a short time but she was such a delightful warm woman...I will miss her joy in books and life. Mary Laing Pease, Ventura

I met Lois when my son Charles was to marry Sheila. I enjoyed each encounter as she was so personable and caring. I remember driving to Oxnard with my daughter for Sheila's bridal shower, and Lois and I shared our excitement at our children's impending marriage. It was a happy time. We will all miss her.

We lived down the street (Rialto in Oxnard) from the Breyer family in the early 60's. Sheila and I used to play with each other and I can remember going over there and her mom would make us cream cheese and jelly sandwiches!! I still eat those too!! Thoughts and prayers to the Breyer family.
