We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved husband, brother, father, uncle, nino, cousin, friend and "Grandpa." Mario V. Villarreal was born on June 2, 1946 in Texas. He was called to be with the Lord on Nov. 4, 2010.
Mario enjoyed spending time with his wife Helen, family and dog "Dusty." Mario's favorite pastimes included hiking, camping, fishing, listening to music, spending time with his family and especially playing music with his brother Joe. Mario was a very happy person, he loved joking around and making everyone laugh. He will truly be missed by all who loved him so very much.
Mario is survived by his loving wife, Helen Villarreal; daughter, Michelle Villarreal; stepdaughters, Teresa Nations, Pamela Weissman; stepsons, Mark Nations, Dean Nations; brothers, Joe Villarreal, Fernando Villarreal; sisters, Lydia Villarreal, Santos Villarreal, Gloria Portillo (husband Oscar), Ester Diaz (husband Tony); and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, godchildren, and friends.
A memorial Rosary service was held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7. Compliments of: Reardon Funeral Home, 511 North A St., Oxnard, CA 93030. We thank you for your great compassion and kindness.
"Safely Home"
I am home in Heaven, dear ones; Oh so happy and so bright!
There is perfect joy and beauty In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over, every restless tossing passed;
I am now at peace forever. Safely home in Heaven at last.
Did you wonder I so calmly Trod the valley of the shade?
Oh! But Jesus' love illumined Every dark and fear glade.
And He came Himself to meet me in that way so hard to tread;
And with Jesus' arm to lean on, Could I have one doubt or dread?
Then you must not grieve so sorely, For I love you dearly still;
Try to look beyond earth's shadows, Pray to trust our Father's Will.
There is work still waiting for you. So you must not idly stand;
Do it now, while life remained, you should rest in Jesus' land.
When that work is all completed, He will gently call you Home;
Oh, the rapture of that meeting, Oh, the joy to see you come!
