Patricia Lee Young, 76, was born Jan. 20, 1934 in Los Angeles. Pat passed away peacefully on Nov. 27, 2010 of natural causes in Orange, Texas, where she recently moved to be with her son and his family. However, no matter where she was, she felt home was always in Southern California where she resided most of her life.
Pat loved the beach and was very close to all her family. She always had her door open to whoever was in need and was known by most as "Ma." Pat had a rough life filled with sadness and joy and was ready to go Home. Pat found comfort in reading the Bible and her favorite poem was "Footprints." Her favorite "vice" was playing poker!
Pat made her living as co-owner of Componetics for 25 years with her two sisters. The business was started by her father and mother in their garage when she was a young adult. This was a family affair and they made a name for themselves in the aerospace industry.
The greatest legacy she leaves behind are her three children, Donna Maddox, David Maddox and Jessie Alkire. As well as 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, most recent one born March 5, 2010, Danielle Johnson. Pat enjoyed spoiling them all. She is also survived by her two sisters, Joan Doney and Nadine Cassady, and many nieces and nephews. Pat will be missed by all who knew her.
Memorial Service to be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 6 at Newbury Park First Christian Church, 801 Knollwood Dr., Newbury Park, CA 91320.
