With his loving family by his side, Ralph O. Estrada passed away on November 21, 2010 after a brief illness.
Born on October 10, 1927, he lived his entire life in Oxnard where he raised seven children with Louise P. Estrada who preceded his passing in 1993. He had many passions, but in the Estrada tradition his first love was always music. He especially loved the Big Bands of his time - Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington and Count Basie. Gifted with a beautiful voice, his dream was to be a "frontman" singer for a big band.
That love would be pushed aside for a greater love - his wife and children. It was common for him to treat the family with his rich voice and the songs he loved. He was loving, kind and dedicated to his children until his last days.
He was preceded in death this year by his daughter Patricia McCabe of Annapolis, Md. and leaves behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Although his voice is stilled, his song lives on through his children.
Viewing will be held Monday from 2-8 p.m. at Funeria Del Angel 401 W. Channel Islands Blvd., Oxnard. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Santa Clara Church followed by burial, then a small reception. For any questions or more info please email [email protected].
