Bob Hunt was always glad to see you. Following his trademark How are ya, a conversation with Bob was likely to be a lively and honest exchange, often culminating with Bobs insightful, humorous and sometimes outrageous view of the world. Bob really made you think. His considerable success in business often challenged convention. The simple solutions he offered to your seemingly complex problems made you wonder just what was holding you back. His raw humor and party antics made you question if the social norms we wear like restrictive cocoons are really all that important. And, Bob really made you laugh.
He was always the life of the party, the light in the room and everyones favorite jokester. With just his mischievous smile and boyish charm, he made you laugh. Bob never cared if you were laughing at him or with him. He just wanted everyone in the room to have a fabulous time, and to be sure everyone felt included.
Robert J. Hunt was born on Aug. 23, 1945 in Newark, New Jersey. In 1949, the Hunt family moved to Southern California with Bobs brother and two sisters. There, five more sisters and another brother were born and lived in the Hunt family home on Farmdale Avenue in North Hollywood.
Bob attended St. Charles School and North Hollywood High School. Following his James Dean teenage years, Bob graduated from Valley State College (Now Cal State Northridge). He then parlayed his independent intellect and a strong desire to win into successful business interests in Southern California and Texas.
He loved, struggled and grew from his several marriages and eventually settled on the lake in Westlake Village. There he continued to develop enduring friendships. But his crowning achievement may well be his relationship with his wonderful wife Erla perhaps the only woman to truly know, understand, accept and cherish the unique person that Bob was.
Bob passed away in peace on Oct. 26, 2010 at his home in Westlake Village, surrounded by his family. He will continue to live in the hearts of his wife, nine siblings, three stepchildren, scores of relatives and hundreds of adoring, close friends. To say Bob was loved and will be missed would be wholly inadequate.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7 at Pierce Bothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village.

Earla, I am so sorry to hear about Bob's passing. I can't think of anyone who could make me smile and feel good as Bob could when he would be around me. He had a way of making everyone feel special. Always fun and the life of the party. He is truly going to be missed by all that knew him. You both were so perfect together. I am sorry for your loss.

Rest in Peace my friend. You were always a lot of fun to be around. You were a good listener when I needed one and encouraged me when I had cancer. Fifteen years ago we met at Starbucks and a member of our morning group there. I will miss you! Thanks for being my friend.

Erla, I'm so sorry to hear that Bob has passed. Working for him was truly an experience. I thought about him often and we spoke on several occasions over the years. Anyone that was lucky enough to see the two of you together knew how he loved you. My thoughts and prayers are with you. May he be at rest now.
