Siene Dykstra Obituary

Siene Dykstra passed away at her home in Vacaville, Calif., on Oct. 24, 2010. She and her husband, Jerry, were residents of Ventura County (Oxnard) for 63 years.

Siene was born in Elgin Township, Iowa on Sept., 5, 1922 to John and Nancy Kruse. She grew up in Sibley, Iowa. She married Jerry Dykstra on Dec. 15, 1939 and they were happily married for 67 years, until Jerry's passing in 2006. She moved to Northern California in 2008 to be closer to her son, Larry, and grandson, Cory.

Siene lived a blessed life. When Jerry started his electrical contracting business, she took all the calls and ran the books. The two of them were a true team. They loved to dance, go camping, travel, fishing, and their large circle of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nancy; sister, Ella Mae; and brothers, Harm and Dan.

She is survived by her son, Larry; grandson, Cory; brother, Kobey and his children Steve, Lonnie, and Debbie; and countless in-laws and nieces and nephews. Siene was a no nonsense type of person with a good heart and a friendly soul. She was a wonderful mother, wife, daughter and friend.

There will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, in the chapel at Ivy Lawn Cemetery.

Larry, Kobey and family,

I am saddened to read of Siene's passing. It has been years since we were members of the Copperettes Club together, but I still recall the fun we had at the dances we attended and watching Siene and Kobey jitterbug!

There's peace in the promise that life is everlasting. Thinking of you in your sorrow and hoping these words are of coomfort to you now

Larry:
Condolences to all of the family on the loss of dear Siene. She was a special lady, one that I will remember all of my days. Take comfort knowing that your parents are together once again, probably playing cards with the rest of their friends and family.
