Sue passed away Thursday night, Sept. 30, surrounded by family in Simi Valley at age 60. Her final days were spent with loving friends and family who continued to shower her with smiles, love, and stories.
She is survived by her husband, Craig; daughter, Erin; son, Kenneth and daughter in-law Jacqueline; mother, Phoebe Van Kirk; her brother, Frank Van Kirk of Freestone, Calif.; brother, John, his wife Monika, and their two daughters Lydia and Juliana Van Kirk of Centennial , Colo.
Sue was born in Los Angeles on Aug. 13, 1950 and graduated from UC Davis with a degree in child development and USC with a master's degree in physical therapy. Her love of being outdoors, camping, being with friends, music, and children started early and continued throughout her life. Sue was a pediatric physical therapist for 35 years.
She worked for Simi Valley Hospital in the Child Development Center for the past 25 years and was loved and admired by children, parents, and co-workers alike. For the past three decades, Sue was a devoted member and actively involved in both church and the community teaching Sunday school, leading the youth group, organizing pageants, and supporting other charitable organizations.
In addition, she always kept family her number one priority and was the biggest supporter for Erin and Kenny's sports, education, and lives.
Memorial services to celebrate Sue's life will be held at 10 a.m. on Oct. 16, at Kirk o' the Valley Church, 19620 Reseda St., Reseda, CA 91335. We are asking donations be made to Kirk o' the Valley Church, Sue Taylor Memorial Fund to be used toward a new organ so others can hear the music she loved or a charity of your choice involving children, the other love of her life. She will be dearly missed and never forgotten.
