Winnifred Lessing Obituary

Winnifred A. Lessing died Nov. 13, 2010. She was 94 years old, born in Rochester, N.Y., but came to California in 1919.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Clifton J. Lessing, and a son, Clifton John Lessing, Jr.

Winnie is survived by her daughter, Catherine Howell, and her favorite son-in-law, Darvin Howell of Westlake Village; son, Paul Lessing, and daughter-in-law, Jill Lessing of Auburn; son, Bruce Lessing, and daughter-in-law, Kathy Lessing of Leona Valley; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Winnie was a great cook, gardener, and knitter. In her last few years she was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church Prayer Shawl ministry. Her loving, kind nature and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.

A special thanks to Sunrise Assisted Living of Westlake Village, and An Everlasting Spring home for their special, loving care.

We also wish to thank Livingston Memorial Hospice for guiding us through this holy time.

Memorial services will be held Nov. 19 at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Westlake Village.
