Yvonne Bowser Obituary

Yvonne Marie Bowser ended her 20-plus year battle with Huntington's Disease: VICTORIOUS! At peace; at last. Vonnie was born on Sept. 19, 1952 in Los Angeles and passed on Nov. 9, 2010 in Victorville with family and friends near.
Vonnie was preceded in death by the best parents on earth, Carter and Geraldine Wood (our foster parents). She is also preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Danny, Debbie, Pattie and Tony. Vonnie is survived by her husband, Bob, of Victorville; brother, Jon Mills, of Long Beach; sisters, Nannette Chambers and Mara Alvarez, both of Apple Valley; nephews and nieces, Erica Wallace of Kentucky; Joseph Daigneault of Anaheim; Brian Alverez of Denver; Sarah Diagneault of Ohio; Jessica Smith of Denver; Shane Andrade of Hesperia; and Jimi and Rachel Chambers of Apple Valley.
Words cannot express our thanks to Sterling Commons for the wonderful care given to Vonnie during the past eight years. The staff worked tirelessly with us as situations and difficulties arose, always finding solutions, and making life better for Vonnie. Thanks also to Community Hospice for providing the additional care that allowed Vonnie to remain at Sterling, where she was comfortable and safe. We offer a HUGE, heartfelt 'thank-you' to Dr. Susan Perlman (neurologist) of UCLA, who ALWAYS treated Vonnie with such dignity.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010 at Desert View Memorial Park, 11500 Amargosa Road in Victorville. Donations may be made to the Huntington's Disease Society of American (hdsa.org) or to your favorite charity. Thank you.

She was such an amazing friend and person. She would always make sure to remember my children´s birthdays, have gifts, do holidays with them, even have Easter egg hunts in her front yard for the whole block of kids. We loved her so much. They lived across from my children and I. She will always be forever in our hearts. I still go over to Bob´s to make sure he´s okay. I was unfortunately unable to make her service. TIL this day it bothers me. He never let me know and doesn´t like to talk about it. Her memories are still in place all over the house. I love that. God bless.

Bob and Family... Paul and I are very deeply sorry for her passing. May peace be within your hearts. She was one of most nicest friend we have ever known. I can still think back on all of her kindness to us when we visted before her conditon worsened.
