The Elders of First Christian Church

July 1, 2009

Lloyd will be remembered for his tireless love and devotion to his beloved First Christian Church, where he was baptized in 1934 - in 75 years of membership, he missed very few Sundays. He sang in the choir, directed the choir, taught Sunday School, served on the Board as Treasurer and Elder. He was named Elder Emeritus of First Christian Church on June 29th, 2007.
As a younger man, he was active in Christian Endeavor, where he, Paul Wild and the "Proctor twins" embarked on a trip to Toronto Canada for the International Convention of Christian Endeavor in 1949. Having an extra seat in the car, a young lady from Florence Presbyterian Church accompanied them. That young lady became Virginia Wild in 1952, when she and Paul married - and Lloyd sang at their wedding.
Lloyd took 9 boys from his Sunday School class on a trip to the Black Hills, served as cub scout and boy scout leader for many years.(Noah Bogus and Bill Coffin were 2 of those boys)
The First Christian Church and the entire Ashland Community will always be grateful for having been a part of Lloyd's life.
Our prayer is that Lloyd will join Jesus' choir of Angels for eternity.

Lloyd & I worked at the Ashland Gazette and I really enjoyed his friendship, his humor and his wisdom. He also was the bus driver for our oldest son, Mark. I'm sorry to hear of his passing.
