RITA ANDELIN Obituary
RITA ANDELIN (Age 103)
At sunrise, May 7, 2017, Rita Andelin peacefully passed away in Arlington, VA. Her 100th birthday lapel pin said "I survived just about everything," which was truer than not. Born in Chicago, she moved to California in 1948, then to Virginia in 1984. Her husband of nearly 62 years, John Philip Andelin, passed away in 1995. She is survived by her son, John Philip Andelin, Jr., and her daughter-in-law, Virginia Geoffrey, as well as the dozens of extended family members from around the world she dearly loved. She was a wonderful example of someone living a full and interesting life. Graveside services were held at Columbia Gardens on May 10, 2017. Donations in Rita's memory may be made to your favorite charity.

As a kid, brunch or dim sum with Jack, Rita, John and Ginger was a special tradition! Rita's love for travel and learning is an inspiration to my family and me. We should all be so lucky as to lead an interesting life that long! Love to the Andelins.

I am so sorry for your loss. It is always so very hard to lose a loved one in death and our loving Heavenly Father is very aware and understand your painful loss. He will listen to your prayer and pay attention to your pleas for help because he is near to all those calling on him. In the days of your distress, he will answer you. Find comfort that your loved one will live again. (Psalms 86:6-7) To her son John Philip Andelin, Jr., and her daughter-in-law, Virginia Geoffrey, your family and friends have my deepest condolences.
