On Thursday, March 1, 2012, of Washington, DC. Husband of Jill Callio Butash; proud father of Julie Hammond and Andrew John Butash; brother of Thomas Christopher Butash; son of the late Thomas John Butash and the late Geraldine G. Lemacks. Relatives and friends may call at Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle, 1725 Rhode Island Avenue, NW, Washington, DC, on Monday, March 5, 2012 from 9:30 to 10 a.m., where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Society of the United States, 2100 L Street, NW, Washington, DC 20037, www.humanesociety.org, or to a charity of your choice.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

hello,
i lived with mike back in the 80s in cheverly, maryland. i believe he met his wife at a party we periodically had.
mike was a driven person to become a financial advisor/stock broker and he succeeded.
i will always remember him fondly.

I am so sorry to hear about Mike Butash. He handled our account at Smith Barney since our marriage in 1997 Mike was hilarious.. always had a joke on almost every call. Jill and Julie and Andrew... I will miss your husband and father. He told me about your trip to Europe Julie... how exciting that must have been and i think if i remember correctly Mike met up with you over in Europe some years back. I am truly sorry for your loss. To Jill, Julie, Andrew, Elizabeth, Chris, and Charlotte and to all who I don't know who came to Michael's funeral. Thank you for the beautiful celebration of his life. My grief is still raw and I continue to see Michael and hear his wonderful laugh. He will be sorely missed.

Dear Jill, Julie, Andrew and Tom-
I was so sorry to read Michael's obituary in the newspaper this morning. To those of us over 70, Mike was a young man and much too young to now be gone.
I know his passing will leave an empty spot in your hearts, but know that many of us are thinking about you and praying for you.
