As his Deputy Director for the Fire Support Department, I found him to be very professional and knowledgeable about the enter workings of the Army, Fort Sill and the Field Artillery. At put him at the top of my list of the officers I worked for and being around him. I remember closing the office with Carol (his secretary) late trying to prepare for his arrival the next morning. God bless you and family. Major Dan

Roger Bernardi was the `Iron Major´ of my battalion at Fort Hood. He was a marvel to watch in the field: energy, intelligence, action under pressure, yet humor and understanding when it was most needed and appreciated by staff and troops. A real soldier we´ll always remember with affection.

Knew Roger years ago at ARI archive in Monterey, CA. He and I bonded about our Army and Notre Dame connections. So sorry I waited too long to reconnect.

Col Roger Bernardi was a tremendous leader, mentor, and Soldier. As Director for the Fire Support and Combined Arms Operations Department at Ft Sill OK he heavily influenced the professional development of US Army and Marine Corps officers and NCOs as well as those of many of our Allied nations. We will always remember his professionalism, sense of humor, and dedication. He was simply a great man, admired by many.
