On Friday January 16, 2015, James L. Brown, "Jake" of Gaithersburg, MD. Beloved husband of Catherine A. Brown; Loving father of Elena F., Jamie H., Jessica L., and Melissa P. Brown. Son of Norma P. Brown and the late Labon L. Brown; Brother of Patricia, Malcolm, Tom and Phil. Also survived by three grandchildren. Friends may call at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Dr., Gaithersburg, MD on January 22, 2015 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Services will be held at a later date. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his name to Montgomery County Animal Services & Adoption Center 7315 Muncaster Mill Road, Derwood, MD 20855. There are no words to express how saddened we are by Jake's passing. I know he was a wonderful man and it was always evident how much he loved his family. He was a great neighbor and we all will miss him around here, for sure. I must also say he was such a happy man, thinking of him I am reminded of the "Frosty" song - "A Happy Jolly Soul", that is how we will always remember Jake.

I will miss my long time friend. We go back to JR. High school and reconnected in recent years and kept in touch.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his bride of many years, his family, that he loved.
I will think of you often Jake and remember the times we spent together!
