Dear Nancy and Family - I only learned today of your terrible loss, and want you to know how sorry I am. May you all find peace in the happy memories you have of your loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. I am thankful that I had the chance to meet Abraham in the library at Methodist Hospital and I will treasure Nancy's books as a remembrance. - Mary Gorfine

May the pain of your loss be tempered by good memories.
I had the pleasure of working with Avi on several pediatric cardiology issues at FDA. He was always insightful and thought-provoking. He was a wonderful advocate for children. On a personal note, he also never failed to ask about my family and boast about his. I will miss his warmth and intelligence.
My thoughts are with you. May his memory be a blessing.
