HELEN MARIE GRIFFIN (Age 91)
On Wednesday, September 14, 2016 of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late James Francis Griffin; loving mother of Jim (Tammy) Griffin, Kathleen Griffin, Justine Griffin, John (the late Nancy ) Griffin, Gail Griffin, Michael (Patti) Griffin, Paula (Greg) Fischetti, Bill (Beverly) Griffin and Tom (Stacie) Griffin. Also survived by 27 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Sister of Mary Kay Reed of Lincoln, NE and the late Paula Kulawik. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Monday, September 19 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, September 20 at Our Lady of Grace Church, 15661 Norbeck Blvd., Silver Spring, MD from 10 to 11 a.m., where Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. I was sad to hear of your mom's passing. I'm certain she was met with open arms by your dad, and my mother and father. The foursome is complete! I will never forget the story my mom told me of how she'd ride her bike to your mom's house for lunch, and when all of us were in school, they'd enjoy a glass of grape Manachvitz wine. Helen, you were such a great friend to my parents, and such a support to my father when mom died. They loved you so dearly. We will miss you. To all the Griffin children, peace and love.

Mrs. Griffin - you will certainly be missed by all. You were one very classy lady. One of my fondest memories of both you and your late husband was the long standing tradition of ringing in the New Year with mom and dad. And, I will always remember your kind words of comfort and sitting next to dad at the funeral home after mom passed providing support - a true friend indeed.
