Steve, Steve, & Ann.. sending very belated condolences on behalf of our WSLL 1984 VA State Champs baseball team. A number of us have been back in touch and were heartbroken to hear about Jim. 34 years later and we still fondly remember the summer of '84, coming out of the losers bracket to win 13 games in a row & capturing the VA title with Jim, Coach Lyons, and the legendary pitcher Steve Jr inspiring us. Much love and gratitude to the Lyons family from your Summer of 1984 brothers... Mark, Eric, Keith, Andrew, Bill, Pat, Jeff, Gary, Chris, Joe, Matt, Kevin, Tim. [email protected]

I want to echo Trumpler's comments about Jim. I still tell stories about how much fun we had during law school - and most of those stories have Jim at their heart. He was such an incredible guy - smart, funny, outgoing - great all around. So sorry for his loss.

Steve and Ann:
I have not had a better friend in my life than your son Jim. It breaks my heart to know that he is gone. He truly was one of a kind and one of the best men I have ever known. As we got older and both grew into our own, I still knew that I could pick up the phone any time and call Jim if I ever needed any thing. He was the kind of a guy that would give you the shirt off of his back if you really needed it. He was just an incredibly special and wonderful guy. I am just so sorry for your loss. I am heart broken. He really was one of a kind. He was a credit to both of you.

Steve, Ann and Steve. Pat and I were saddened to hear about Jim. To me he will always be the little lefty with a wad of Big League Chew in his mouth and just as happy playing in the dirt than hitting or fielding. However he was a good little athlete. Lots of good memories through the years. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during these difficult days.

Dear Steve, Ann and Family: My sincere condolences on the passing of Jim. He was a superb tax lawyer; more importantly, he was a terrific young Man, a true Friend, and a great credit to the Tax Division, the U.S. Senate, and your Family. He will be truly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
