It is with sadness that I learned of Charlie's passing. I met Charlie back in about 1980 in McLean where he signed me up into the American Legion at McLean Post 270. He inspired my 3+ decades of active service. He also sponsored my 40&8 membership, remaining a friend and mentor for many years. Charlie gave many years of service to the American Legion, 40&8 and the Jefferson VFD (Company 18)in Fairfax County. He will truly be missed.

We became friends with Charlie through the American Legion and the 40 and 8 organization. We can say that we are truly better people for having met him. Rock and Edna Eagle
