JIMMIE WALKER Obituary

JIMMIE WAYNE WALKER, SR. (Age 68)
Of Fairfax, VA. He is survived by his beloved wife, of 48 years, Linda S. Walker, and children, Donna M. and Jimmie W. Walker, Jr. On December 31, 2014, he suffered a fatal heart attack. He graduated with a Business Administration Degree from George Mason University; ran his own business, and later worked as Director of Safety and Insurance for Richard A. Viguerie Company, Dart Group and Lightnet. Retired for several years, he enjoyed many hobbies, including singing and weight lifting. An animal lover his whole life starting with his first pony and later handling champion dogs in confirmation dog shows.Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Cremation Society of Virginia, 14014 Sullyfield Circle, #F, Chantilly, VA 20151 on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 1 p.m. A reception will be held at the Centerville Moose Lodge, 3529 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax, VA 22033after the funeral service from 3 to 5 pm.

The spirits of Jimmie Walker, his Aunt Veda, whom he stayed in touch with regularly, and her two grandsons, all joined each other in that heavenly place at the same time. A Medium said Wayne James is with my family. I want to believe she meant Jimmie Wayne. Veda loved him like a son.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Mr. Excitement's passing. Recently, I began attending karaoke regularly at the Centreville Moose and Jimmie always had a compliment and great word to say after a song. In fact, he once advised me against attempting to sing like Louie Armstrong; that it would damage my vocal chords; that I had a great voice and to just sing naturally. Thanks for the inspiration. Deepest and sincerest condolences to Jim, Donna and the Walker family, we're thinking about you guys all the time as you get through this difficult period. We didn't know Jimmie but the fact that he has 2 amazing kids speaks volumes about him and your mum. As you know I almost suffered the same fate so feel a bit of a connection to him.

Jimmie Wayne had a good heart. He was a sensitive and loving person. Veda always looked forward to hearing from him and to his/Linda's visits. She loved being Aunt to Jimmie Wayne, just as she loved being sister to Nolan and her many siblings. I recall wonderful Walker Christmas parties, with lots of cousins as we were growing up-- sometimes hosted by Jimmie Wayne's parents. Thinking of you Linda and family with sympathy, love, and hope.
