aunt eleanore, john paul and elizabeth, john was not only my favorite uncle but in an indescribale way a source of inspiration to me. all my life i've heard the stories of the hard and sad background that all the perkins brothers endured.john's success and accomplishments are a real source of pride, given his hurdles early in life. my mother adored him as we all do and delighted in telling how john tried to ruin her elaborate thanksgiving dinner by delivering a speech at the table extoling the virtues of dieting! uncle john always reminded me of the "kid that was caught with his hand in the cookie jar" every time I saw him smile. My greatest regret is that I didn't spend more time with him later in life,my memories as a child with him and aunt eleanore will be treasured always.I choose to remember him as a gentle but passionate man who didn't have a mean bone in his body, a brain the size of texas, always put you at ease, hands down the greatest but devlish smile and as a man who never forgot where he came from, loved his family dearly, especially you aunt eleanore.we are all so fortunate to have been touched in some way by john and he is the only one i,ve ever met in my 53 years that i can confidentely and proudly call a great man.my sincere sympathies to the three of you, love always, michael perkins
