JOYCE ABRAMSON
Joyce Taylor Abramson, 75, of Reston, VA, and formerly of Nashville, TN, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013. Beloved wife of (the late) Rudy Paulk Abramson of Cloverdale; loving mother of Kristin Abramson of Washington, DC and Karin (Abramson) Bowles and husband Churchill of Richmond, VA; adored grandmother of Gibson, Whitt and Coleman Bowles; cherished sister of Linda Rushing of Charlotte, NC and (the late) Paul O'Brien of Gainesville, FL; daughter of (the late) Elizabeth and Jack O'Brien. Joyce was born and raised in Nashville, TN and graduated from Vanderbilt University. She worked on Capitol Hill for Senator Albert Gore, Sr. and Congressman Richard Fulton and met Rudy, a Washington correspondent for the Los Angeles Times. They raised their family in Northern Virginia. Family and friends will gather for a graveside service at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013. Pallbearers will be family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the ASPCA. An online guest book may be signed at greenviewmemorial.com Arrangements by Greenview Funeral Home.

We will miss Joyce and Rudy, two of our dearest Reston friends. Both of them had many, many friends. We were also very fortunate to know Kristin and Karin, their two daughters.
