Naomi Bradford Obituary


NAOMI W. BRADFORD (Age 93)  
On Friday, December 10, 2010, Mrs. Naomi Bradford entered into eternal rest. Her husband, James J. Bradford predeceased her. Beloved mother of Patricia Long, Jacqueline Buggs, Roberto Anderson, James C., Franklin D. and Herbert L. Bradford. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two children, Jamie and Emma. Mrs. Bradford will lie in state at Israel Metropolitan CME Church, 557 Randolph St. N.W. Monday, December 20 from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Interment Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Services by STEWART.

Naomi taught proper phone etiquette to generations of Washington Star dictationists. I can still hear her sing, "Washington Star, may I help you?" as she scanned the newsroom to see who was where. Bless her heart.
