ROBERT FAISON Obituary



ROBERT ROY FAISON (Age 81)
Of Palm Coast, FL passed away on June 28, 2011. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 15 at 1 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of St. Andrew, 15300 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD. Prior to his retirement, Bob was a Special Agent with the US Secret Service and was the first African American permanently assigned to the White House. He had the pleasure of serving six U.S. Presidents during his career. After finishing high school, Bob spent eleven years in the U.S. Army and rose to the rank of Warrant Officer. He then earned his Bachelor's Degree from NC A&T State University. He was a fifty-one year member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, a member of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, the Association of Former Agents of the Secret Service, the NAACP and many other professional, civic and social organizations. He and his wife moved to FL from Silver Spring, MD in 1999. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Jacquelyn, Palm Coast, FL, son Robert D. Faison (Desirae), Charlotte, NC, step-daughter Michelle Rayner Thompson (Joseph), Baltimore, MD, sister Hortense Mobley, NY, NY, seven grandchildren and a great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Dorothy, a son Gregory, and two brothers, Randolph and Hewitt Faison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Noble National Scholarship Fund, 4609 Pinecrest Office Park Drive, Suite F, Alexandria, VA 22312-1442. Att: Hubie Bell.
