VIVIENNE A. FORD (Age 93)
Peacefully transitioned on Friday, July 1, 2011. Beloved widow of John M. Ford, Sr.; cherished mother of John M. Ford, Jr.; devoted grandmother of Deidra and Allen Davis; adored great-grandmother of Ryann and Reagann Davis. She is also survived by a loving daughter-in-law, Harnetha Ford and a host of family and friends. On Friday, July 8, 2011 from 9 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m., friends may visit with the family at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 1140 6th Street, NE, Washington, DC. Interment Ft. Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.

Johnnie,
I will always remember your Mom sitting on the her front porch and always so happy to see me and my sisters (Vernetta & Linda Holland) walk by. My Mom (Thelma Johnson)and Mrs Ford always kept in touch with each other. My mother is truly missing a dear friend.

I remember your mother standing on her porch and talking to the kids many years ago.You were so blessed to have your mother for such a very long time. It is never easy saying goodbye. God will sustain you during this time of breavement. Think of her often and smile, remembering all the great memories that you shared with your mother. Deidra and Allen,
May the love of our God be a constant in your lives, as you now journey without 'Crab.' She was more than a grandmother, but a true elder. My days at Howard U are peppered with memories of her and Pop. How blessed we are to have had her all of these years.
