I am the son of Thai Ambassador Visutr Arthayukti who was in DC between 1959 and 1963 and had a close relationship with Mr. Wright. As I am currently writing my Dad's biography and I read in his diary that on 30 Oct 1962 right after the Cuban missile crisis and a few days after a tropical storm hit southern Thailand causing more than 900 deaths Mr. Wright was considerate enough to ask my father what the US could do to alleviate the sufferings of the people the Talumpuk peninsula that was completely destroyed. I shall place this item in the biography I am currently writing.
