The Jacobs family is thinking of all of you today. My desk was next to Jessica's at work in the newsroom, and I feel as if I knew Rachel from hearing Jessica talk about Rachel, her super-organized wedding planning and her happiness on her wedding day. I often heard Jessica laugh on the phone enjoying her conversations with Rachel. Since I'm an only child, I thought how wonderful it was that two sisters could also be best friends. With so much love that all of you had for Rachel comes so much pain with her loss. She was a remarkable young woman. Today, I will celebrate her life, and keep you in my heart.

Dear Banov and Gould Families, and Friends,
I write to express my deepest sympathy and profound sadness to hear that Rachel passed away. I work at the Office of Child Care and first met Rachel when she was a fellow in ACF. We sat in cubicles across from each other and from the very first day we met, we shared the same sense of humor and talked often. I was so impressed how bright she was and of course, fun. We really shared a lot of laughter.
And, Rachel was very hard working and dedicated. I remember how excited she was when she met her fiancé, and she told me the story of how they met. We often discussed plans for her wedding, and I can honestly say that every time I ran into her at ACF my day was made a bit special, a bit lighter. I had not seen Rachel for months so I inquired without result as to where she was.
I was absolutely devastated to hear this. I extend my deepest sympathy and please know that Rachel was a bright star, and I will always remember her.

To the Banov and Gould families,
We are saddened by the death of Rachel, but gladdened by the happy memories we have of her. She was a stalwart colleague and worker to all of us at the National League of Cities (NLC).
We are very sorry for your loss.

Dear Ben and the Banov Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family. I knew Rachel at Michigan and though we lost touch over the last several years, I have such wonderful memories of her. She was an amazing person.
Love,
