I am writing to express my condolences to the family of Mrs Walls. I did not know her but do know her daughter, Dru, and wish to express my support as she is a very kind and caring person.

My oldest son called her Eliz-a-biz-a-biz-a-bet; he was a very busy toddler, always wanting to wonder over to their place all the time. She was Patience and Love unequalled and Bert too, always had a hand held out for my young Andrew to hold on to, as he explained, in serious tones, what vegetables were what, and how this grew early and that not quite yet. My little fella craned his neck up to see their loving faces and took in every word. We three were next door neighbors with Bert & Liz for a handful of unforgettable years. I learned to garden under Elizabeth's tutelage. Bert, puffing on his pipe, shared many an inspirational story: working the lines, fighting the war, watching his daughters grow up. Their beautiful daughters "the Girls" were a regular part of our lives and I was blessed to be part of those gatherings.... Then the season's tasks: Tucking bulbs into the soil, learning how to set bricks just right into the sand, get the model train tracks set just so for their Christmas display for the neighborhood kids, watching Elizabeth's paintings come to life, helping Bert rake up those darned messy Magnolia leaves and oh so much more. I can't express the gratitude and appreciation I have for their being part of my life. Their daughters, too. Thank you for everything and more than you can ever know, dear Elizabeth & Bert. xoxxoox

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs. Walls. I have so many wonderful memories of spending time with Kathy at the house on Munson Street. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you!
