JAMES McLeskey Obituary
JaMes Joseph McLeskey, III (Age 77)
Jim passed away from Alzheimer's disease on June 22, 2017. He was born in Vicksburg, MS, earning a BA from Rice and his PhD from Duke. He enjoyed a 38-year career working with the US Army at various facilities of the Army Materiel Command. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandra Weaver McLeskey; brother, Frank McLeskey (Karma); sister, Kathy McLeskey (Richard Budell); daughters, Mary Monahan (Brian), Dorothy Yeh (Edward), and Susan Kiefer (James); nine grandchildren; and many nieces; nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held on August 13, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Inter-faith Chapel, 3680 S. Leisure World Blvd., Silver Spring, MD 20906, with reception following. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Georgetown University Brain Bank, Georgetown University Medical Center Office of Advancement, Attn: Kristina Madarang, 3300 Whitehaven Street NW, #4000, Washington, DC 20007 or https://neurology.georgetown.edu/research/georgetownbrainbank. A wonderful big brother (in-law, but the "in-law" part is the least important.) He provided guidance and support to me in critical times and fit right into our extended family with thoughtfulness, grace and humor. Always fun; always up to something new. I will remember him with love.

In the late 80s and early 90s Dr McLeskey was my supervisor at AMC. He was key to my getting the training to become an admin officer and his reccomendation got me the job that made my career. For years I have said he was the best supervisor I had in 25 years in the government. So sorry to hear of your to me he was great caring person.
