On Wednesday, October 25, 2017, of Germantown, MD. Beloved fiancée of Ray Charles; mother of Tyler Yankanich, Martelli and Gavin Charles; daughter of Larry Yankanich (Jackie) and Sandra Whittington; sister of Andrew Yankanich (Mary); aunt of Alyssa Heflin and Matthew Yankanich. She is also survived by other loving family and friends. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Monday, October 30, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 2900 Sandy Spring Road, Olney, MD, on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment All Souls Cemetery.www.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Larry and Andy, I'm devastated to hear of Danas passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the extended family during this time. I keep remembering the years they were in my care and some of the good times with all the kids, one in particular was our trip to Great Falls. She was a very special little girl and grew into a fine young lady. She will be remembered and in my heart. May your memories provide some comfort along with her 3 handsome boys. Dana you were one of the first people I met when I came up here after Hurricane Katrina. I didn't know anyone and you open your heart and let me in. Now 11 years later you were still one of my good friends until God decided he needed you more. I will cherish those memories. RIP Dana gone but never forgotten.
