Alys Dauchess Obituary

DAUCHESS ALYS G. DAUCHESS Passed away at home on May 14, 2010 after a long illness. She was born April 25, 1926 in Bronx, NY to the late Earl and Anna Walsh George. She graduated from the University of Michigan and then served in the U.S. Navy. In addition to raising her family, she enjoyed a 28 year career teaching elementary school in Fairfax County. Alys was the beloved wife of 60 years of Edward Geddy Dauchess; loving and devoted mother of Anne Lang and her husband, Michael of Keezletown, VA, Matthew Dauchess and his wife, Barbara of Reston, VA and Mark Dauchess of Lost River, WV; proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Adams-Green Funeral Home, 721 Elden Street, Herndon, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 19, 11 a.m. at St. Thomas a"Becket Catholic Church, 1421 Weihle Avenue, Reston, VA.

Alys was a wonderful person and friend. From talking sports to world travel, she was always a joy to be with and listen to. Perhaps the greatest tribute this MSU Spartan can offer, in her honor, is to say "Go Blue!" ...and that I'll miss her.
