Bert Levy Obituary

LEVY BERT LEVY (Age 80) Of Leisure World of Virginia, formerly of Columbia, Maryland died on Monday, July 19, 2010 in Leesburg, Virginia. Mr. Levy was born January 3, 1930 in Washington, DC to the late Harry and Fannie Berkowitz Levy. Five siblings and a son, Daniel Ross Levy, also predeceased him. He received his Bachelors in Education with a major in Math from Wilson''s Teachers College and furthered his education at George Washington University with a PHD in Mathematical Statistics. Mr. Levy retired as a statistician with Department of Agriculture in 1987. During his retirement, he was a professor at Essex Community College and Morgan State University. Mr. Levy is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Carole Lillard Levy of Leesburg; a son, Michael David and wife, Bianca Blount Levy of Sterling, Virginia; one sister, Ann Kurtz of Silver Spring, Maryland; two grandchildren, Benjamin Philip and Allison Estelle Levy; a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Columbia Memorial Park, Columbia, Maryland. Memorial donations may be made to Jewish Social Services Agency, 200 Wood Hill Road, Rockville, Maryland 20850. On-line condolences may be sent at: www.LoudounFuneralChapel.com
