CARROLL R. HAWKINS
On Monday, April 8, 2013 Carroll Hawkins of Annandale, VA. Beloved husband of Geraldine Hawkins; loving father of Charles Hawkins (Diane) and Jacqueline Danforth (Lawrence). He is survived by grandchildren Brett Hawkins (Hillary), Kyla Hess (G. Paul), Jonathan Danforth (Carol) and Jeffrey Danforth (Liz); great grandchildren Lane, Tripp and Mary-Stuart Hawkins, Griffin and Makenna Hess; brother Alfred Hawkins (Karen), sister Sue Fox and sister-in-law Linda Hawkins. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters Phillip, Lillie, Charles, Mattie Lee, Marie, Ralph, Ross, Mabel and Zelma. The family will be receiving friends at the Murphy Falls Church Funeral Home, 1102 West Broad St. (Rt. 7) on Saturday, April 13 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 12 Noon. Interment National Memorial Park. Contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or Culmore United Methodist Church, 5901 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA 22041.

Carroll and I made a great team to keep our church maintained and clean for almost 20 years! He was a hard working dedicated Christian. I hope he felt the same about me.

A week in Falls Church, and it just doesn't feel right when I go to or by Culmore UMC and I know he isn't there. We were partners in upkeep on the church for so many years. What a wonderful man he was, and how much he gave to his church and his community! He will be missed for a long,long time!

I loved my Uncle Carroll, he will be sadly missed. I know you are in heaven with dad and your other brothers and sisters smiling down at us.
