CHARLES VACEK Obituary
CHARLES FRANCIS VACEK (Age 63)
Of Alexandria, VA, entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 22, 2013. He was born on March 3, 1950 in Johnstown, NY to Henry S. and Elizabeth Maceyka Vacek. Charles graduated from Bishop Burke Catholic High School and received his B.A. from Fordham University. He obtained a Masters in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. Charles was employed by Pacific Gas & Electric Company in California and left as vice president to accept a position in the George H.W. Bush administration's Department of Energy. Charles recently retired as a lobbyist and representative for Niagara Mohawk Power Company of New York State. He is survived by two brothers, Henry Vacek of Johnstown, NY, Dr. William Vacek of Glastonbury, CT, and one sister, Suzanne Calce of Napes, FL. Charles is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Elizabeth, and a brother, Michael Vacek. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Burial will be at Saint Anthony's Cemetery in Johnstown, NY at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.

The neighborhood is missing Charlie. Glad we get to see and pet his beloved bassett hound, Lady, as she makes her rounds with her adopted mom. Tonight is the annual neighborhood Christmas party and Charlie will be remembered and missed there.
