I only now found out about Mary's passing. I remember her well from our days at WTOP radio .. Her father was my mentor for 20 years. She was such a sweet heart. My prayers are with her family.

I am so very sorry to have only so recently heard about your loss. Mary taught me everything I needed to know about life. She was a wonderful colleague, friend, and mentor. She made everyone laugh at themselves, and was always compassionate when sadness or tragedy hit. Mary was the calm in every storm. I am so very saddened by your loss, but so very grateful to have known her for more than 30 years.

Before marriage, before kids, maybe even before college Mary became an acquaintance and friend largely because of her Dad, Jim, my boss and mentor. My thoughts are with her family and especially her Mom.

Mary leaves behind a host of wonderful memories and caring friends which is a great legacy. I only knew her from our years at Ursuline. She was one of my first friends when my family moved to Maryland from Tennessee. It looks like she ran the good race. I am so sorry for your loss.

Mary was an inspiration to all she met. We worked together for a brief time at the Medill Journalism Program in Washington. She challenged and inspired our students with her firm but kind encouragement to be the best. I worked for her father, the legendary Jim Snyder, for many years, and always felt his presence whenever I was around her. May she rest in peace.

Mary was a wonderful role model and mentor. She showed me how to be the best journalist possible while honoring obligations to family and children. She took a chance on me, and for that, I'll always be grateful.
