I am writing many, many years after I should have been in touch--both with Prof. Mondale and with your family. He was on my dissertation committee in American Studies/Folklife at George Washington University, where he offered a wealth of suggestions and ideas for honing what I was trying to say. I have always been thankful that he was one of my advisors--and his counsel, good humor, and decency as a honest scholar of what matters has stayed with me for decades. My degree was received in 1989, so you see it's been a while. I am so grateful for this opportunity to send my condolences. I just wish I had stayed in touch with him after my degree.

Dear Ginny, All of my sympathy to you and your family. Pete was one of the finest people for whom to plan and with whom to enjoy DCV events, like our lunch in the rain.

Ginny and family- Pete was my mentor at GW. Also I have fond memories of our time as kids in Takoma. I will never forget the great trips to Old Rag mountain. The rest of my family sends their blessings.

Ginny - I just saw the notice in the paper about Pete's passing. I'm so so sorry to hear this very sad news. I'm sending hugs and deep sympathy to you and the whole family. I have such fond memories of the fun times we spent together so many years ago.
