I just learned of David's passing today, as my daughter happened to see it in yesterday's paper. No doubt the service was inspirational and I am sorry that I missed it. David's tenacity in helping to unite a family after divorce to do what is best for their children was so commendable that he left a legacy of hope for this issue, as well as a structure nationwide. He truly made a difference in the world.and I know you as his family were proud of him.
After my divorce, I went into the insurance business and he was kind enough to buy the first policy that I sold to anyone. His support meant a lot to me ! My condolances to you, Ellen, Diana, and Justin. No one loved his family more than David Levy did!! Sincerely, Susie DeConcini

I just learned of David's passing. I knew him when I worked at the National Center on Missing & Exploited Children and he was advocating so effectively on behalf of parents without legal custody, some of whom had illegally abducted their child. We agreed on some issues, disagreed on others, but he was always a good listener, reasonable, fair, and one who put children's interests first. He was a good man and I will miss him. My condolences to his family.

After we received each other's cell phone bill in the 1990's, David later called me to try to start a luncheon meeting of the at least 7 people named David Levy in the DC Metro area. He had an engaging manner, to be sure, and we had funny discussions about our common name. He will be missed.

I just learned of David's passing. We knew each other in the early 1990's when he was director of the Council on Children's Rights. He was a tireless advocate for ensuring both parents had equal parenting time. In part because of his work, the term "visitation" is now considered archaic and inappropriate. He made a difference. God bless.

David's tenacity and passionate advocacy on behalf of children involved in divorces and never-married situations knew no bounds. He also was an accomplished and dedicated writer. He will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences to his wife, children, and extended family.

I knew David when he was head of the Children's Rights Counsel. We talked strategy, and I was always monitoring their website. David was an amazing advocate for children and for fathers. His imprint will be felt for a long time to come. My short and brief words cannot possibly capture the deep respect I have for this individual who did so much for the cause of the father/child relationship. It is hard to imagine a better spent life. God bless him. May God recognize him for the god man he was. My prayers are with him.

In our senior year in high school, David and I were co-news editors of the school newspaper. At our recent reunion I reminded him and we both had a good laugh. I was pleased
and saddened that I could spend only that short time with him. My condolences to the family.

I was not too friendly with David during our YHS days, but I had many an opportunity to visit with him at our reunions. At this past October's reunion I sat and spoke with him for 30 minutes and I walked away wondering why we did not have a deaper frindship during high school. David was a remarkable person having the tenacity to attend our reunion. He will be missed at our next reuion. My condolences to his family.

David was my classmate at YHS, someone I remember as being very bright. He will be missed by all of us. I am happy and thankful that I was able to speak with him at our reunion in October. He wrote us after the reunion and described the obstacles he had to overcome to get there. I was amazed. His tenacity is something I remember even from high school. My condolences to the family. I knew David in his youth while we both attended Yonkers high school, and have seen spent time with him at numerous reunions.
I was surprised and concerned to see him in a wheelchair at this past reunion. He remains larger than life to me. I'm so very saddened to learn of his death. Isabel Knecht Kessler

David was a classmate at Yonkers High School, many years ago, and we welcomed his attendance at our reunions. It was our good fortune to see and talk to him this past October at our 60th reunion. We shall remember him for his good works.

I and my children remember years ago helping him with some of the CRC conferences he had managed. I will tell my children. This is a shock to me. Did not know if he and any health issues. A tireless advocate for children having the nurture and help of both of their parents even though their parents would not live together or stay married. I feel like I have been shortchanged with his leaving us.
