JAMES WADE Obituary


 
JAMES N. WADE, SR.  
James Nelson Wade, Sr., 81, of Caroline County, VA, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Bowling Green Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Lynchburg, Mr. Wade was retired from the U.S. Navy; he was a Yeoman 1st class who had served the world over. He was a Vietnam era vet who had served with the Seabees and had worked for the Joint Chiefs at the Pentagon. He had retired from Washington Gas and Light. He was a member of Chancellor Baptist Church, Fleet Reserve 181 in Arlington. He was an avid fisherman and loved time with his family. Survivors include his daughter, Sheila Wade Anders and husband, Scott; sons James N. Wade, Jr. and wife, Cecelia, Robert L. Wade and wife Denise and Leslie L. Wade and wife Sondra; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Lawrence L. Wade and wife Janice. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Catherine Avis Johnson Wade and sister, Phyllis Ayers. A service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at noon in Quantico National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Capitol Caring Hospice, Resource Development Department 2900 Telestar Court Falls Church, VA 22042.  Online guest book is available at  covenantfuneralservice.com
