Admiral Carr and his lovely wife Molly visited Naples Italy while I was attached to the Staff of COMSUBGRU 8. We shared some of the joys of Napoli and they were most gracious and appreciative. He was a stellar submariner and a distinguished Leader. May their Memory be eternal.

Admiral Carr was a shipmate of my father's on NAUTILUS and he and "Aunt" Molly were close friends of our family throughout my entire life. The United States has lost a true leader and gentleman who will be missed by all who knew him. Fair winds and following seas..... Don Hall, CDR, USN (Ret.)

I serve with Ken as a fellow Commissioner of the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission. We shared a deep concern for doing the right thing for our nation to the best of our abilities. Ken always looked out for the staff and appreciated their efforts and challenges. He was an Admiral but stated in the Navy as an enlisted man and never forgot it. He was one o our nation's best.

Ken was my Grandfather's first cousin and an inspiration to our family - especially me. I remember visiting him in Norfolk when I was 14 years old and he took us aboard the Nautilus. I didn't realize at the time what a special opportunity that was.

He and I lived in the Washington, DC area for several years and were able to get together for dinner on occasion. He liked to talk about Reagan (even though he claimed he was a Democrat.) :) We shared many family reunions, laughs around the fireplace at the house on Fort Scott and a few games of tennis.

He and Molly were wonderful people. I know that they are together now.

I served with Adm. Carr since he was a Lt. in Nautilus,1957-1960. He was one of the finest officers I ever served with. He was also one of the finest persons I've ever known. He was joy to stand watches with and I recall many great hours in the Attack Center on watch with him. We spoke at every Nautilus reunion we both attended and it was always good to see and converse with him over these many years. He will be greatly missed by anyone who served with or knew him. To the Carr and Pace families: I think you all know just how I feel about our loss of Admiral Carr. In October of 1964 he was my Commanding Officer on the pre Commissioning Unit of the USS Flasher SSN613. In May of 2012 we became renewed shipmates and new friends in civilian life. How lucky could a guy like me be.
Rest in peace my friend. The rest of us now have the watch.
