LAWRENCE EDWARD CARR, JR  (Age 92)  
Passed away in Alexandria, VA on Saturday, November 21, 2015. The son of Lelah Rose and Lawrence Carr, Sr., Mr. Carr was born in Colorado Springs, CO and raised in Southern California. Mr. Carr graduated from the University of Notre Dame and Notre Dame Law School. He received his LL.M from George Washington University. Mr. Carr was married to Agnes Isabel Dyer, of Denver, CO for 64 years. In 1949, Mr. and Mrs. Carr moved to Washington, DC where they raised their five children, Mary Lee Charles (Roger) of Alexandria, VA; James (Mona Kyle) of Malibu, CA; Lawrence III (Kristine) of Arlington, VA; Eileen Riley (Douglas) of Towson, MD; and Thomas (Megan) of Arlington, VA. In addition to his children, Mr. Carr is survived by 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. Carr practiced law in Washington for more than 60 years, most recently as senior partner with Carr Maloney, PC. He served as President of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia, President of the D.C. Defense Lawyers Association, as a Fellow with the American Bar Foundation, and as a Member of the Advisory Counsel for the University of Notre Dame Law School. Mr. Carr served with the U.S. Marine Corps in China in 1945-1946 and was recalled to active duty for the Korean War. He retired from the Marine Corps Reserve with the rank of Colonel. Friends may call at Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 West Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1427 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA 22302 on Saturday, November 28 at 1 p.m. Private interment at the Quantico National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the University of Notre Dame Law School at www.donate.nd.edu or to Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington at www.ccda.net.

I have so many great memories of Mr. and Mrs. Carr when I visited their homes in Kensington and Potomac. They raised such a wonderful family which provides a lasting legacy of their faith and love.
